Tips to Succeed with Binary Options
- Start with a demo account: Before you start trading with real money, it’s important to practice with a demo account. This will give you a chance to test your trading strategy without risking any money. (Click here to get a free demo account with Pocket Option)
- Use longer expiration times: Avoid short expiration times, such as 60 seconds for the beginning. Instead, opt for longer expiration times, such as 5-15 minutes or longer. This will give your trades more time to develop and increase your chances of success.
- Set realistic goals: Set achievable goals for each trading session and stick to them. For example, aim to make a certain percentage profit or limit your losses to a certain amount.
- Stay up-to-date with market news: Keep an eye on market news and economic events that could affect the markets you trade. Avoid trading during volatile times or before important announcements.
- Analyze your trades: Keep a record of your trades and analyze them regularly. Look for patterns in your wins and losses and use this information to improve your binary options strategy.
My Binary Options Trading Strategy in Short
My binary options strategy is based on price action and technical analysis. I use a combination of trend lines, support and resistance levels, and technical indicators to identify high-probability trade setups.
Step 1: Identify the Trend
The first step in my binary options trading strategy is to identify the trend. I use trend lines to draw a line connecting the highs or lows of the price action. If the price is making higher highs and higher lows, it’s an uptrend. If it’s making lower highs and lower lows, it’s a downtrend.
Once you have identified the trend, it is important to confirm it using additional indicators. One of the most commonly used indicators is moving averages. Moving averages are simply lines on a chart that represent the average price of an asset over a certain period of time.
Moving averages can be used as dynamic trend lines, providing a clearer picture of the trend than a static trend line.
If the price is above the moving average, it is an indication of an uptrend. If the price is below the moving average, it is an indication of a downtrend.
Overall, using moving averages in combination with trend lines can provide traders with a powerful tool for identifying trends and making trading decisions. However, it is important to remember that no indicator is foolproof and traders should always use multiple indicators and strategies when making trading decisions.
Step 2: Identify Support and Resistance Levels
Once I’ve identified the trend, I look for key support and resistance levels. These are areas on the chart where the price has reversed in the past. I draw horizontal lines at these levels and use them to identify potential trade setups.
Support and resistance levels are critical in technical analysis and play a significant role in determining entry and exit points for trades. Support levels are price levels where the demand for the asset is higher than the supply, resulting in a price bounce.
Resistance levels are price levels where the supply for the asset is higher than the demand, resulting in a price rejection. Identifying these levels is crucial to determining the strength of the trend and the potential reversal points.
To identify support and resistance levels, I use several techniques, including:
- Swing highs and lows: I look for areas where the price has previously bounced off, forming a swing high or low. These levels can act as strong support or resistance levels in the future.
- Moving averages: Moving averages are dynamic trendlines that smooth out price action by taking the average of the asset’s price over a certain period. These lines can act as support or resistance levels in an uptrend or downtrend.
- Fibonacci retracements: Fibonacci retracements are based on the idea that markets tend to retrace a predictable portion of a move before continuing in the original direction. These levels act as support or resistance levels and are calculated using the Fibonacci sequence.
- Round numbers: Round numbers, such as $10 or $100, can act as significant psychological levels and can serve as support or resistance levels.
- Keep in ind that a Support level turns into a resistance if it’s broken by the price and vice versa!
Tip: You can draw Support and Resistance inside the chart and go back in history to see how it’s matching the past price levels, I’m pretty sure you see how well this method is working!
By identifying key support and resistance levels, I can determine potential trade setups, such as buying at a support level or selling at a resistance level. It’s essential to consider the overall trend when trading these levels, as a breakout or breakdown can indicate a potential reversal of the trend.
Step 3: Look for Technical Indicators
I use a combination of technical indicators, such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), to confirm my trade setups. For example, if the price is in an uptrend and the RSI is oversold, it could be a good time to buy a call option.
If the RSI is crossing the bottom line upwards for example, it may be a good entry for a call option, as the price is oversold but moving already upwards! If the RSI is crossing the 80s Line downwards, it may be a good entry for a put option!
The MACD can be used similarly, if the MACD line(The faster one) is crossing the 0 line for example, or if the Signal Line (the slower one) is crossed by the MACD can give you earlier entries, but can also lead to more lost trades!
In addition to RSI and MACD, there are a variety of technical indicators that can be used to confirm trade setups in binary options trading. One such indicator is the Moving Average (MA), which can be used as a dynamic trend line.
Moving averages are a commonly used technical indicator in binary options trading, as they help to smooth out price action and make it easier to identify trends.
They work by calculating the average price of an asset over a set period of time, such as 50 or 200 days, and plotting it on the chart.
Traders can use moving averages in a variety of ways, such as:
- Identifying trend direction: As mentioned earlier, moving averages can be used as dynamic trend lines. If the price is above the moving average, it’s considered an uptrend, and if the price is below the moving average, it’s considered a downtrend.
- Identifying support and resistance levels: Traders can use moving averages to identify key support and resistance levels. When the price approaches the moving average, it may bounce off it, indicating a potential support or resistance level.
- Identifying crossovers: When two moving averages with different time periods cross each other, it can indicate a potential trend reversal. For example, if a shorter-term moving average (e.g. 20-day MA) crosses above a longer-term moving average (e.g. 50-day MA), it’s considered a bullish signal.
Other popular technical indicators include Bollinger Bands, which help to identify volatility and potential breakouts, and Fibonacci retracements, which help to identify potential levels
Step 4: Enter the Trade
Once I’ve identified a high-probability trade setup, I enter the trade. I use longer expiration times, such as 15-30 minutes, to give my trades more time to develop. I also use proper risk management by only investing a small percentage of my account balance in each trade.
In fact, you can use this binary options strategy for almost all expiration timeframes, just make sure to use a chart with a third or half the expiration time as candlestick timeframe.
If you use 1-Minute charts, trade 2-4 minute binary options, if you use 15 seconds charts, you can trade 30 – 90 second binary options!
Anyway, longer expiration times will lead to fewer trades per day, but it may be easier to determine price moves as the market fluctuation doesn’t make a difference really!
Binary Option Strategy Example
Watch the video below about a variation of my binary options trading strategy explained here. Inside the video, I use a Stochastic Oscillator instead of the MACD indicator, whenever the fast line crosses the slow line upwards, and the Stochastic is near 20, it’s a good entry signal for a call option, if the stochastic is above 80 and is crossing downwards it’s a good entry signal for a put option!

Optimizing a Binary Options Strategy
In addition to the steps already outlined, there are other methods that can be used to further optimize this binary options strategy. One such method is the use of candlestick patterns. Candlestick patterns can provide valuable information about potential market reversals or continuation of the current trend. Some common candlestick patterns to watch for include doji, hammer, shooting star, and engulfing patterns.
Another method that can be useful is the use of price action analysis. This involves analyzing the price movements and patterns on the chart to identify potential trade setups. For example, a breakout from a key support or resistance level could signal a continuation of the trend and provide a potential trade opportunity.
It’s also important to stay up-to-date with market news and events that could potentially impact the underlying asset. Economic indicators, company earnings reports, and geopolitical events can all have an effect on market sentiment and prices. By keeping informed about these factors, traders can make more informed decisions about their trades.
Ultimately, a successful binary options strategy will require a combination of technical analysis, market knowledge, and risk management. By continually refining and optimizing your strategy, you can increase your chances of success in the binary options market.
